What affects skin around the eyes?
The skin surrounding the eyes is naturally thin and delicate, with differences in thickness, elasticity and facial anatomy from person to person. Genetics and normal facial movement can influence when fine lines, creasing or laxity begin to become noticeable.
With age, changes to collagen and elasticity can make the skin feel thinner and less firm. Sun exposure and other environmental factors can contribute further, particularly around an area that moves constantly through blinking, smiling and squinting.

Treatment Details
SmoothEye uses Fotona’s non-ablative Er SMOOTH® mode to deliver controlled thermal energy around the upper, lower and outer eye area. This stimulates collagen remodelling without surgical incisions, injections or intentional removal of the skin surface.
Treatment Sensation
You may feel gradually increasing warmth as the laser passes over the eye area, with some areas feeling more intense than others. Topical anaesthetic may be used according to your individual treatment plan and practitioner protocol.
After Treatment
There is usually minimal clinic-required downtime. Temporary redness, warmth or mild swelling may occur, and some people experience dryness or light superficial peeling over the following days. Follow your personalised aftercare and protect the area from unnecessary sun exposure while the skin settles.
Results & Sessions
Changes develop progressively as collagen remodels rather than appearing all at once. SmoothEye is generally performed as a course of treatments, commonly spaced several weeks apart, with the number of sessions depending on your skin, degree of laxity and individual response.

Treatment may need to be delayed or avoided during pregnancy, with active infection, recent tanning or certain medications. Suitability is assessed individually before treatment.

Generally, yes. SmoothEye does not usually require restrictions on flying, although temporary redness or swelling may still be visible after treatment.
Avoid unnecessary sun exposure for at least two weeks beforehand and do not use fake or spray tan around the treatment area. Let your practitioner know about medications, recent treatments or changes to your health before your appointment.
