ProCell Growth Factor Microchanneling
Skin trauma or damage like acne or surgery can leave permanent changes, like scars and uneven texture. We understand how noticeable these can feel. ProCell Microchanneling uses precision stamping with recombinant growth factors and cytokines to support collagen renewal and smoother, more even-looking skin.
What affects skin texture & renewal?
Skin naturally changes over time. Collagen and elastin production, cellular renewal and the skin’s repair response can gradually slow, contributing to changes in firmness, texture, fine lines and overall skin quality.
Sun exposure, inflammation, acne and previous injury can also leave visible changes such as uneven tone, pigmentation or scarring. How these changes develop varies with genetics, skin type, lifestyle and the way each person’s skin heals.
Common Causes & Contributing Factors
Acne & inflammation
Inflammation from acne can affect pigmentation and the organisation of collagen as skin heals, sometimes leaving persistent textural changes or scarring.
Ageing & collagen changes
Collagen and elastin support the structure and resilience of skin. Their production changes over time, which can contribute to fine lines, reduced firmness and uneven texture.
Injury & scarring
Surgery, trauma and other injuries can leave changes in skin texture and colour. The appearance and response of scars varies considerably between people.
Sun exposure
Repeated UV exposure can contribute to pigmentation, uneven tone, textural changes and visible signs of photoageing.
Expectations & Recovery
Appointment Length
Typically around 30–45 minutes, depending on the area being treated and whether topical numbing is required.
Treatment Details
The ProCell device uses a controlled vertical stamping action to create precise microchannels in the skin. ProCell’s professional delivery serum is applied as part of the treatment, providing recombinant growth factors, cytokines and DNA repair enzymes while the channels are accessible.
Treatment Sensation
Most people describe light prickling or tapping during treatment. Skin may feel warm, tight or mildly sensitive afterwards. Topical numbing may be used for deeper treatment settings when appropriate.
After Treatment
Temporary redness, warmth or tightness is common. With shallower treatments this may settle within several hours, while deeper settings can produce redness or pinpoint crusting for several days. Follow the recommended aftercare, use only appropriate skincare while the skin settles and protect treated skin from unnecessary sun exposure.
Results & Sessions
Some improvement in skin brightness and texture may be noticed early, while collagen-related changes develop gradually over the following weeks. For general skin rejuvenation, 2–3 treatments may be sufficient, while deeper wrinkles or scarring may require 5 or more sessions. Treatments are generally spaced around four weeks apart, with the plan tailored to the concern being treated.
Who is Suitable for this Treatment?
ProCell Growth Factor Microchanneling may be considered for people wanting to improve:
☑ Fine lines and early textural changes
☑ Uneven skin texture or tone
☑ Enlarged-looking pores
☑ Acne and other suitable scars
☑ Sun-related pigmentation
☑ Overall skin quality and firmness
Treatment is not appropriate during pregnancy or over active herpes, infection, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis or other active inflammatory conditions in the treatment area. Uncontrolled diabetes, significantly dry or compromised skin and relevant medications or medical conditions also need to be discussed before treatment. Suitability is assessed individually before proceeding. We always conduct an assessment first.
Why Choose Our Approach?
ProCell combines controlled microchanneling with a professional delivery serum rather than treating the needling step in isolation. Its vertical stamping action is designed to create uniform channels without the rolling or dragging action of traditional rollers, while the current serum provides recombinant growth factors, cytokines and DNA repair enzymes to support the skin during its natural renewal response.

Frequently Asked Questions
Growth factors are signalling proteins involved in processes such as cell communication, repair and renewal. ProCell’s current professional serum uses bioengineered recombinant growth factors alongside cytokines and DNA repair enzymes.
No. The current ProCell formulation does not use human or animal tissue. Its growth factors are recombinant, meaning the proteins are produced through bioengineering rather than being extracted from human bone marrow or other tissue.
They are related skin-channeling treatments, but ProCell uses a precision vertical stamping technique and is designed to work with its dedicated growth-factor delivery serum. Traditional techniques may instead use rolling, dragging or other needling methods.
You may feel light prickling or tapping as the device moves across the skin. Treatment depth affects sensation, and topical numbing can be used for deeper settings where appropriate. Skin can feel warm or tight for a short period afterwards.
Recovery depends on treatment depth. Mild pinkness or redness may settle within several hours after shallower treatment, while deeper settings can produce redness or pinpoint crusting for a few days. Individual recovery varies.
For general skin rejuvenation, around 2–3 sessions may be sufficient. Deeper wrinkles or acne scarring can require 5 or more treatments. Sessions are generally spaced approximately four weeks apart.
It may help improve the appearance and texture of suitable acne scars by stimulating the skin’s natural collagen-remodelling response. Active or inflamed skin needs to be assessed first, and deeper scarring generally requires a longer treatment course.
ProCell Microchanneling may help improve some forms of uneven tone and pigmentation, including visible sun-related changes. Pigmentation has many possible causes, however, so concerns such as melasma should be assessed individually before treatment is recommended.
Tell us about pregnancy, medications, active skin conditions, cold sores, infections or anything affecting how your skin heals. Arrive with clean skin and follow any treatment-specific preparation provided during your assessment.
We recommend assessment before your first treatment so we can understand your concern, skin condition and treatment history. We can often provide preliminary guidance from your photos, while an in-person assessment allows us to determine appropriate treatment depth and confirm whether ProCell is suitable for your skin.
